Aoife & Matt

1st June 2019, Monticchiello, Italy

We are getting married...

...and it would be amazing if you were able to join us

You can find out more about the venue and wedding day here,
take a look at our guide for local accomodation here,
and we have pulled together a few options for travelling here.

The Venue

We were lucky enough to happen upon the gorgeous old Farmhouse of Terri di Nano. Situated in the middle of the rolling hills and vineyards of Tuscany you would almost think you were in Ballina or Llandeilo...plus a bit of sunshine!

More details about the days events will be published here soon.

Accomodation

Fortunately the venue is close to three very cute typical Tuscan towns. Each town has a different charm. The wedding cermony will be in Monticchiello, you will find the most accomodation options in Montepulciano, and if you want to stay in a UNESCO town then pick Pienza.

Monticchiello

  • 7 mins away
Very cute but small

The cutest of the three, and only 8 mins drive from the venue, this tiny village is where the wedding cermony will be. Accomodation options are limited, and there is only 2 cafes/bars within the walls.

Montepulciano

  • 14 mins away
For the wine fans

The largest of the three but full of old world character. Full of accomodation options yet less than 15 minutes away from the venue makes it a perfect location. The town is full of cafes, bars, and wine cellars. Highly recommended.

Pienza

  • 21 mins away
Food heaven

UNESCO heritage site, surrounded by the famous Val d'Orcia, and famous for its pecorino cheese, you cannot fail. Slightly further away (20 mins) than the others, accomodation options are decent with plenty of cafes and restaurants.

Other places

There are other great towns within an hour of the venue but transport options to and from the venue are then limited. We will be likely running a shuttle service between Monticchiello, Montepulciano, and Pienza on the evenin of the wedding
hint: Montepulciano is our favourite

Travel Options

Tuscany is set up pretty well for visitors so you just need to get yourself a flight and a hire car. It is best to fly into Pisa or one of the two Rome airports, leaving you a scenic 150 min drive to the venue area.

From Ireland

Unfortunately you cannot yet fly direct from Knock to Tuscany. We have asked Michael O'Leary to put on a special flight but he is yet to reply.

Thankfully there are a fair few flights from Dublin to either Pisa or the two Rome airports.

  • Dublin to Pisa: Aer Lingus
  • Dublin to Rome CIA: Ryanair
  • Dublin to Rome FCO: Aer Lingus

From Wales

With Cardiff Airport not quite yet in ship shape Bristol is your best bet. Cardiff may have a few mid-week flights available, and Birmingham is also an option.

Max Boyce has promised he will belt out a few arias after dinner if someone shouts him a return flight.

  • Bristol to Rome FCO: Easyjet
  • Birmingham to Rome FCO: Jet2.com
  • Cardiff to Italy: TBC

From England

Those living in the land of St George have plenty of options, although they are centered around London. Birmingham, Bristol, and Manchester are also decent bets.Note: You can get to Perugia from Stansted but the times are not great.

  • Lnd Stansted to Pisa, Rome CIA, or Perugia: Ryanair
  • Lnd Gatwick to Pisa, Rome FCO: EasyJet, BA, Vuelling
  • Lnd Luton to Rome FCO: EasyJet
  • See Wales for Bristol/Birmingham options
